VINTAGE ANTIQUE PITTSBURGH REVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP CIRCA EARLY 1900's

Antique Circa 1920-40 Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Tropical Scene Shade on an unmarked base. The reverse painted shade is often referred to as the "Tropical" or "Jungle" scene shade. It has a blue sky and palm trees and tropical vegetation surrounding the shade. The colors are clean and crisp. The pictures above really show the beauty of this lamp and gives the best description for you to take a good look.

20" tall and the shade measures 14" wide. The shade is cased in white on the inside and free of any chips, cracks or repairs.

The bottom of the base is cast iron. It is in need of a new pull chain socket and the cord should be replaced. The heat cap has been repaired where new threads were installed on the cap.

There is a picture of this lamp shade on page 65 from the reference book Better Electric Lamps of the 20's and 30's. It can be seen in the last picture.
