I had no idea what steampunk was until some years ago when a friend brought my wife and I to our first steampunk gathering. The concept behind the entire movement was intriguing. I found that there were other aspects of steampunk other than clothing, jewelry and music that excited me further... I run my own home service and renovation business, so I was immediately interested in combining my love of taking things apart with my love of building. And so it began, what is now my favorite past time on the planet. I gather parts and pieces, scour the internet for gauges and parts, restore lovely items and create new ones to sell... So I can find more amazing pieces to build more wonderful things! You will find my full inventory of steamworks on my blog: laboutiquevapeur. Keep in mind that any item you might be interested in on this site could possibly be altered to fit a budget, or a piece can be created just for you, just let me know what you have to spend. The more costly a piece usually depends on some of the gauges or restored items on a piece, and can sometimes be swapped out for a less costly one. Some of the gauges used are 70-100 years old! Enjoy checking out old and new pieces! And welcome to my world... This lamp is built using a very old telephone crank generator box. This piece features: a vintage western electric Linesman Magneto box with the original finish, an antique brass German meter, crackle amber glass chimney and various solid brass parts. Just remove the two fittings at the top of the lamp as shown in pictures to remove bracket and glass shade so you can easily replace a bulb. All items have natural imperfections due to their recycled nature. This lamp is installed with a full range dimmer switch on the right side of lamp, just turn to desired setting. Lamp is 19"tall x 8" wide. The item "Steampunk meter tesla light brass lamp with gauge and built in dimmer" is in sale since Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
