Philippe Starck Design Art Glass Lamps. Unique designer lamps from an upscale hotel.. These were part of an cutting-edge Philippe Starck room design at the swanky SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. These table lamps consist of an freeform art-glass globe which sits on a metal base. The thick amorphous glass globe element is mostly milky opaque white with various and mineral flecks and swirls.. These lamps stand about 25" tall and 8" wide. These lamps throw a nice range of ambient light with their dimmer function, and offer room lighting which can be reminiscent of candle light at low settings. There is a slide dimmer which allows the lamp to throw a wide range of soft ambient light..

The base is white enamel, with three prongs that hold the glass globe/lens. The lamp takes a standard socket bulb, preferable a tubular or slim shape to get best range of soft ambient light. Tinted bulbs can also be used for a different range of tones.

We have posted various photos and views of these lamps to illustrate the look, shape and type of lighting which these provide. The glass is in great shape, and the lamps are typically in very nice condition, however the white metal bases could have some nicks, surface scratches or minor cosmetic flaws in the white lacquer.. The prongs on the base have rubber or vinyl contact points to hold the glass globe, some of which have previously been replaced with other adhesive felt or rubber pads, so it appears that these pads can be replaced or updated if needed. Note that these are large breakable items so packaging will be large.
