Portable Gas Table Lamp with Full-Figural Child and Deeply Etched Glass Shade

Portable Gas Table Lamp with Full-Figural Child and Deeply Etched Glass Shade
Portable Gas Table Lamp with Full-Figural Child and Deeply Etched Glass Shade - 1880's. This lamp is from 1880, when gas portable lamps were common. It still retains the original inner copper tubing through which the gas flowed. The shut-off valve has been removed for electrification. It still retains the rather unusual and highly-detailed pulls which once controlled the gas flow.

It has a true-to-period deeply etched glass shade depicting hunters, dogs, trees and birds in flight. The reticulated and embossed base is very fancy. It has 100% original patina throughout which has a nice warm copper glow. This is a very unusual gas shade due to the size and deep etching, not often seen.

Professionally electrified and ready to use. DIMENSIONS: 20 from base to top of shade. Base measures 8" x 7.5" Please view photos at top of page.
